The Bluebell Railway is a 11-mile heritage railway running between Sheffield Park and East Grinstead in Sussex, following part of the former London, Brighton and South Coast Railway’s Lewes to East Grinstead line. It opened as the UK’s first preserved standard-gauge passenger railway in August 1960, marking the beginning of its life as a heritage railway. This product allows you to hop on board the footplate and travel behind BR Standard 5 No.73082 ‘Camelot’ between Sheffield Park and East Grinstead.

BR Standard Class 5 No.73082 ‘Camelot’ was built at Brighton Works in 1954 as part of British Railways’ fleet of Standard Class 5MT locomotives. One of only four Standard Class 5 locomotives preserved, ‘Camelot’ is now based on the Bluebell Railway, where it regularly operates passenger and special services. Sit back and watch as the driver and fireman tackle the steep gradients, hauling the busy summer service through the picturesque scenery.

Option 1: Sit back and watch the action from the footplate, from several different camera angles including the lineside. You’ll travel from Sheffield Park to East Grinstead. This option includes short titles informing you of key locations and the gradient profile along the route.
Option 2: Similar to the previous option, however this option doesn’t feature the lineside action, titles and gradient profile information.
Option 3: Take in the picturesque scenery as you pass through Sussex, this option allows you to watch from the front lamp bracket, unedited for the full trip between Sheffield Park and East Grinstead.
