Description

‘The Jacobite’, voted one of the greatest rail journeys in the world, takes passengers on an 84 mile round trip, through the stunning Scottish Highlands. Travelling from the largest town in the Highlands, Fort William, ‘The Jacobite’ passes the UK’s highest mountain, Ben Nevis; crosses the world famous Glenfinnan Viaduct; passes the most westerly mainland railway station, Arisaig; passes close by the deepest freshwater loch in Britain, Loch Morar and the shortest river in Britain, River Morar, finally arriving into Mallaig Station.

Running from Easter through to the end of October, ‘The Jacobite’ runs seven days a week. During the summer months, two services run with a morning and afternoon departure, making this is the only regular crossing of two steam services passing each other on the national network.

This double disc DVD features footage from between 2019 and 2022, showcasing ‘The Jacobite’ from a wide collection of lineside locations. From the strenuous climbs to the picturesque views as the train passes by, this DVD features footage of services travelling in both directions between Fort William and Mallaig.
