Day 3 of ‘The Great Britain XVII’ running from Cardiff Central to Carnforth, hauled by WCRC Class 57 314 ‘Conwy Castle’, replacing LMS Black Five No.45212 which had failed with a tender hot box. Seen passing Gatcombe Wood, the Lickey Incline, Madley Woods and Garstang.
