‘From The Air’ captures steam action from a completely new perspective. From views no longer accessible due to tree growth to scenes filmed over water, this four-disc product features footage recorded throughout 2025, shot exclusively using drone technology.
This product features a mixture of mainline, heritage railway, and narrow-gauge action. Each clip included has had its sound meticulously edited to ensure you hear the locomotives working hard rather than a constant music overlay. Covering scenes from the Scottish Highlands to Somerset and Devon, and from Sussex to Snowdonia, what more could you need to recall the best moments of 2025?

Drone technology has allowed us to reach locations that are no longer accessible because of tree growth, as well as viaducts that are too difficult to access on foot, and it has opened up new opportunities for filming over water. The footage captured includes a mixture of camera angles and styles, including tracking shots, filmed throughout the year at a wide range of locations.

Mainline Steam:
Steam charters are included from across the UK, featuring a wide variety of locomotives, working hard at locations such as the Settle & Carlisle Railway, Devon Banks, West Coast Mainline including Shap, West Highland Extension, the Cumbrian Coast, East Coast Mainline and many others.

Note: this product features only drone videography. Our Steaming Around Britain 2025 will feature our non-aerial videography from throughout 2025.
