Watch the driver & fireman onboard BR Standard 4 No.75014 at the Churnet Valley Railway – now available
Built as mixed traffic locomotives, the BR Standard 4 were a versatile class of steam locomotive. Throughout the early part of 2024, BR Standard 4 No.75014 ‘Braveheart’ visited the Churnet Valley Railway in Staffordshire. We joined the driver and fireman to film ‘From The Footplate’ as they tackled the challenging 1 in 40 gradient to Ipstones.
Running for 10.5 miles, the Churnet Valley Railway travels through the picturesque Staffordshire countryside from Froghall to Ipstones. With multiple cameras attached to the locomotive, you’re able to watch and listen to the locomotive working hard as the crew take their 6-coach dining service to Ipstones. Additional footage is also embedded throughout of the locomotive from the lineside.
