New: The Harz HSB: 2024-2025

After almost two decades of filming steam railways across the UK, we’re delighted to announce the publication of our first international steam railway production.

The Harz: 2024–2025 takes you to Germany’s spectacular Harzer Schmalspurbahnen (HSB) network, where we spent time filming during our visits in both 2024 and 2025. Spanning over 140 km of metre-gauge railway, the HSB is home to one of the world’s largest fleets of operational steam locomotives, with its impressive 2-10-2 tank locomotives providing the backbone of daily services across the network.

This brand-new 90-minute programme showcases steam in all its glory as the locomotives tackle the steep gradients of the Harz Mountains, pass through dense forests, and call at picturesque towns and villages. With footage captured at a wide variety of locations, the programme offers a comprehensive look at one of Europe’s most iconic steam railways.

Available in DVD, Blu-ray, and digital download formats, The Harz: 2024–2025 marks an exciting new chapter for Steaming Around Yorkshire, and we hope it will be the first of many overseas productions.
