Charters include ‘The Great Britain XIV’, ‘The Jacobite’, ‘The Waverley’, ‘The Dalesman’, ‘The Fellsman’, ‘The Lakelander’, ‘The White Rose’, ‘The Northern Belle’, ‘The Cumbrian Mountain Express’, The Scarborough Spa Express’, ‘The Mancunian’, ‘The Peaks Express’ plus others too.
2022 Highlights:
– Mainline charters are included from a selection of different locations across the UK including Shap, Beattock, Settle & Carlisle Railway, the 1 in 37 Lickey Incline, West Highland Extension, Cumbrian Coast, Miles Platting, Welsh Marches, the East Coast Mainline plus others too.
Many locomotives are featured including: 4498 ‘Sir Nigel Gresley’, 45699 ‘Galatea’ (running as 45562 ‘Alberta’), 45596 ‘Bahamas’, 45407 ‘The Lancashire Fusilier’, 45231 ‘The Sherwood Forester’, 70000 ‘Britannia’, 46100 ‘Royal Scot’, 46115 ‘Scots Guardsman’, 6233 ‘Duchess Of Sutherland’, 34046 ‘Braunton’, 35018 ‘British India Line’, 34067 ‘Tangmere’, 45690 ‘Leander’, 7029 ‘Clun Castle’, 44871, 44932, 45212 plus others too.
– 2022 saw the much anticipated return of LNER A4 No.4498 ‘Sir Nigel Gresley’, carrying its LNER wartime black livery. ‘Sir Nigel Gresley’ is seen at the Severn Valley Railway’s spring steam gala; its return to the mainline, running over the Settle & Carlisle Railway and Shap; followed by the North Yorkshire Moors Railway.
– ‘Great Britain XIV’ ran during April 2022, the 9-day tour travelled across the UK, featuring a variety of different steam locomotives. Footage is included from day 1 – London to Edinburgh, day 5 – Stirling to Grange-Over-Sands, day 6 – Grange-Over-Sands to Cardiff and day 9 – Penzance to London.
– Two trips to the Scottish Highlands are featured of the award winning ‘Jacobite’ service. Running from Fort William to Mallaig, LMS 5MT No.44871, LMS 5MT No.45407 ‘The Lancashire Fusilier’ and LMS 5MT No.45212 are seen hauling services at various locations.
– The Welsh Highland Railway celebrated the centenary of the reopening between Dinas and Rhyd-Ddu. During July 2022, the railway featured sole surviving Hunslet Engine Co. 2-6-2T ‘Russell’ during their ‘WHR 100: South Snowdon’ event.
– A collection of photo charters are featured during this DVD including 0-6-0ST No.1208 ‘Illingworth’ and L&YR ‘A Class’ No.52322 at the Embsay & Bolton Abbey Railway, GWR 45xx No.5553 at Peak Rail and Hunslet Engine Company 16″ No.3783 ‘Hollybank No.3’ at Chasewater Railway.
– 2022 saw the mainline return of several steam locomotives, including LMS 5MT No.44932, SR BoB No.34067 ‘Tangmere’ and BR 7MT No.70000 ‘Britannia’.
– Throughout the four discs a wide collection of events are featured from many different preserved railways including freight demonstration services, vintage services, gravity trains, express services and much more.
