LMS Black Five No.44806 passes Ellerbeck at the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. Taken on the 27th October 2024.
Steam locomotive 44806 is a LMS Stanier Class 5 4-6-0, commonly known as a ‘Black Five’, built in 1944 by Armstrong Whitworth for the London, Midland & Scottish Railway. Preserved after withdrawal from British Railways, 44806 has operated on several heritage lines and currently resides on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, where it remains a popular mainstay of their steam fleet.
