Description
The Keighley & Worth Valley Railway, the only complete branch line in the UK is well re-known for holding their annual Autumn Steam Gala. The event is an important event on many enthusiasts calendars for holding a varied range of trains running along the picturesque five mile branch line.
The annual 2013 Autumn Steam Gala featured a strong theme of Western action, featuring three visiting Great Western Engines. Running over the cold, damp mornings of October the engines tackled the steep gradients from Keighley to Oxenhope. Featuring at the event was GWR 15XX No.1501 which recently to steam at the Severn Valley Railway, GWR 78XX No.7812 ‘Erlestoke Manor’ also normally based on the Severn Valley Railway and GWR Large Pairie No.4141 visiting from the West Somerset Railway.
Long term visitor LMS 5MT No.45305 which has been based at the railway during the 2013 season could be seen hauling a range of trains up the valley to Oxenhope. Also featuring was resident BR Dub-Dee No.90733 which ran as No.90711 one of the final steam engines to work over the Queensbury Branch and in a weathered condition.
Footage is included from throughout the event and features all the engines that ran at the event. Trackside footage is also included, an aspect not available to the general public. A wide collection of freight, vintage, express and passenger services also feature throughout the DVD.

We have taken the opportunity to include some extra footage, this includes footage of visiting engine GWR 15XX No.1501 at the Severn Valley Railway, GWR 78XX No.7812 at the Severn Valley Railway and GWR 51XX No.4160 at the West Somerset Railway. Footage is also included of long term visitor LMS 5MT No.45305 at the Worth Valley throughout 2013, plus as the ‘Coal Tank’ No.1054 celebrates its 125th anniversary a look back at the engine since it was launched from overhaul.
